Dortmund wins, Bayer Leverkusen stumbles and the German title race continues

The 16th round matches of the german championship moved the race for the title this Tuesday. Second-placed Borussia Dortmund beat lantern Greuther Fürth, while third-placed Bayer Leverkusen stumbled at home to fourth-placed Hoffenheim.

Playing at their stadium, Signal-Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund confirmed their favoritism and won 3-0. Against Greuther Fürth, last placed with four points, the home team went ahead in the 33rd minute of the first half, with a goal by Haaland.

At the end of the second stage, the Norwegian scored again and reassured the team after 37 minutes. Six minutes later, Donyell Mallen closed the game, taking Dortmund to 34 points, six behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Bayer Leverkusen, who hosted Hoffenheim, fourth in the Bundesliga, could play a role in the fight for the cup.

The home team opened 2-0 with two goals from Patrick Schick, the first 37 minutes into the first half and the second 19 minutes into the second half. In the second half, however, Hoffenheim tied, with goals from Stiller and Dabbur, in the 35th and 38th minute, respectively.

With the result, Leverkusen goes to 28 points and distances themselves from the first placed, followed closely by Hoffenheim, who have added 27 points so far.

Also in this round, Frankfurt beat Borussia Monchengladbach by 3 to 2, while Augsburg and RB Leipzig drew in 1 to 1. The confrontation between Union Berlin and Freiburg did not come out of zero.
