Elena Vyalbe: I don’t blame young foreign athletes who do not support the Russians
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe spoke about the support of Russian athletes by foreigners. Her words are quoted by TASS.
“The young people who are running there now are not, but my generation, with whom we ran, is supported. Surprisingly, even those people with whom we had not communicated for a hundred years began to write with words of support,” shared Vyalbe, adding that she could not blame the young athletes.
Earlier, Vyalbe said that without a flag and anthem, Russians should not participate in the Olympic Games. “And my position will not change,” the coach emphasized.
On October 25, it became known that the council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) extended sanctions against Russian athletes. For the first time, restrictions on the performance of Russians at international ski tournaments were imposed in March 2022.
