Acting President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Anton Sikharulidze appreciated the participation of athletes in the show on the eve of important competitions. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Sikharulidze shamed the skaters who performed in the show before the 2024 Russian Championship. He noted that these athletes were not able to show their best performances at the main start of the season.
Sikharulidze called on athletes and coaches to plan their schedules more wisely and not abuse their participation in the show. “When preparing for the main start of the season, the skater must concentrate on it,” the specialist concluded.
Earlier, world figure skating champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva compared earnings from participating in competitions and in ice shows. She said that she gets no less in the show than if she had successfully performed in tournaments.
