Russian boxer Beterbiev: if you ask Usik to fight me, it’s possible
Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev, in an interview with the YouTube channel Fight Hub TV, assessed the likelihood of a fight with Ukrainian Alexander Usik.
“If you ask Usyk to fight me, it’s possible. If he wants to fight, I will never say no,” said the athlete. He emphasized that he and Usik are separated by two weight categories, so it will be difficult for him to move up two divisions and fight with him.
On January 29, the Russian fought with Briton Anthony Yarde and won by technical knockout in the eighth round. He defended three world titles in the light heavyweight category: according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO). In total, the 38-year-old Russian won 19 victories in his career and did not suffer a single defeat.
Usik has 21 victories in 21 fights. He holds the WBO, IBF, International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
