Figure skater Kamila Valieva admitted that it is difficult for her to live with her new weight
Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva admitted the difficulties in life with her new weight. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“There are difficulties, both height and weight. It happens that weight doesn’t interfere much, but at the moment it was putting pressure on me,” said the athlete. She emphasized that one must not lose heart and work. Valieva called Elizaveta Tuktamysheva her idol, who performed at a high level for more than ten seasons.
Earlier on December 23, Valieva took third place at the Russian Championship, scoring 237.99 points. The winner was another student of coach Eteri Tutberidze, Adelia Petrosyan, with 246.53 points.
On November 27, Honored Trainer of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova said that Valieva not only gained weight, but also grew. She believed that the 17-year-old athlete was getting into shape and would soon regain all her jumps.
The figure skater is the subject of a doping investigation. Traces of a prohibited drug were found in Valieva’s sample from December 2021. The final decision in the athlete’s case will be made in January 2024.
