Bestemyanova criticized Tarasova for insulting figure skater Talalaikina
Olympic ice dancing champion Natalya Bestemyanova critically assessed the comments of Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova during the Russian Figure Skating Championships. Her words are quoted by Soviet Sport.
Bestemyanova condemned Tarasova for insulting skaters live. “Tatyana Anatolyevna said a lot of things. Today Tatyana Anatolyevna insulted and humiliated people, which is in no way suitable for TV. This is unacceptable,” she emphasized.
On December 22, Tarasova ridiculed the performance of Russian figure skater Maria Talalaikina in the short program of the tournament. “I don’t want to offend anyone. But… it is necessary to carry out a control weigh-in before going out to an audience of five thousand,” she said.
Talalaikina skated under the Italian flag from December 2021 to October 2022. Afterwards she returned to Russia to the group of coach Evgeniy Rukavitsyn. The figure skater is a bronze medalist at the stages and finals of the Russian Cup.
