93-year-old fencing coach Attilio Fini fought back the attacking robber
The former coach of the Italian Olympic fencing team, Attilio Fini, fought back against a robber who attacked him. His words are quoted by TGR Lombardia.
The 93-year-old specialist said that in the evening in Milan, on the way home, an unknown person approached him, pointed a gun at his chest and demanded to give him his watch and money. Feeney hit the intruder and knocked the weapon out of his hands. “Then I pushed him and he fell, stuck between the scooters,” the Italian shared the details.
The criminal was detained. It turned out that he was wanted in Algeria on suspicion of murder, and in Italy he was charged with several robberies.
Feeney led the national team for almost 30 years from the 1970s to the 1990s. He led the team to gold medals in the team saber fencing event at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
