Stepanova and Bukin became three-time Russian champions in ice dancing

Figure skaters Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin won the 2024 Russian Ice Dance Championship. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

On Friday, December 22, the athletes performed a free dance. Stepanova and Bukin received 130.82 points for it. The total sum for the two programs was 217.72 points. The athletes became three-time national champions.

Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva and Yegor Bazin resigned as Russian champions and became second, scoring 204.90 points. Irina Khavronina and David Narizhny took third place (198.90).

The Russian Championship 2024 takes place in Chelyabinsk from December 21 to 23. The first set of medals was awarded in ice dancing.

On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships, as well as in other international tournaments.
