The UAF asked FIFA and UEFA to prevent the match between Russia and Serbia
The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) sent an official letter to FIFA, UEFA and the Football Union of Serbia. The text of the appeal was published on the UAF website.
The Ukrainian side asked to prevent the holding of a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Serbia. According to the UAF, the organization of such meetings runs counter to the decision of FIFA and UEFA to exclude Russians from international tournaments.
The UAF also separately addressed the Serbian side. According to Ukrainians, assistance in the return of the Russian national team to the international arena should be regarded as support for the political regime in the country.
The match between Russia and Serbia will take place on March 21 in Moscow. The Russian Football Union and the Football Union of Serbia emphasized that they had received permission to hold the meeting from UEFA.
