Russian forward and captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin extended his goalless streak in the National Hockey League (NHL). Statistics are available on the league website.

In the regular season match against the New York Islanders, which took place in Washington and ended in overtime with a score of 3:2 in favor of the hosts, the 38-year-old forward was not effective. Ovechkin failed to score in the 14th consecutive meeting and updated his personal anti-record for games without goals.

Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005, and throughout his overseas career he has played for Washington. Together with the team, the Russian won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
