Three Russian players were named stars of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the league website.

The first star was recognized as Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko. He scored a hat trick in a 9-4 win over the Buffalo Sabers.

The second star was Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov. The hockey player scored a double in the game with the Boston Bruins, bringing the team a victory in overtime with a score of 4:3.

The third star of the day was Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov. The Russian scored two goals in a meeting with the St. Louis Blues (6:1).

Kucherov previously ranked in the top 10 best active NHL players according to the NHL Network. “He scored 100 points in a season for the third time in his career. This is the only Tampa player who has more than one such season,” noted the compilers of the rating and put the Russian in eighth place.
