Serbia and Russia will play a friendly match if permitted by UEFA and FIFA
The Serbian national football team can play a friendly match with the Russian team. Tanjug reports this with reference to the Football Union of Serbia.
As the source learned, the match can take place subject to permission from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA). In this case, the game will take place on March 21 or 22 in St. Petersburg.
The Russian national team played its last friendly match on November 20 in Volgograd. Valery Karpin’s team defeated Cuba with a score of 8:0.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup and does not participate in the Euro 2024 qualifications.
