RPL club coaches named Golovin the best football player in Russia in 2023
The head coaches of Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs have chosen Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin as the best football player in the country for 2023. The voting was organized by Sport Express.
Eight experts put him in first place, two coaches each sent the midfielder to second and third positions, and another coach considered Golovin worthy of fourth place in the list of best players. In total, Golovin scored 56 points and became first by a large margin.
In second place is Colombian forward John Cordoba from Krasnodar (22 points). The top three were rounded out by Brazilian Wendel from Zenit (19).
This season, Golovin played 14 games in the French championship, scoring five goals and two assists. After 14 matches, Monaco is third in the standings.
