Wrestling, cycling, swimming and rowing will be available for the Russian Federation and Belarus at the Olympic Games
Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to compete in wrestling, rowing, cycling and swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The press service of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reported to RBC about the sports available to representatives of the country.
“To date, athletes as individual neutral athletes (AIN) have received eleven quotas for the Olympic Games in Paris: six in wrestling, three in cycling, one in rowing and one in swimming,” the IOC said.
They did not specify which quotas were won by the Russians and which by the Belarusians. The names of the athletes, according to IOC representatives, will be announced at a later stage of admission.
On December 8, the IOC announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN).
At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games. Representatives of team sports will also miss the tournament.
