Ex-CSKA player Evsikov spoke about the penalty for a missed goal from Spartak
Former CSKA football player Denis Evsikov spoke about the sanctions applied to him by the coaching staff after one of the matches with Spartak. His words are quoted by Sport24.
According to him, this happened due to an episode with the army team missing a goal. The defender went to block the shot, but removed his head, which displeased Valery Gazzaev, who was heading CSKA at that time. “We won, but the ending was very nervous. In theory, Valery Georgievich, of course, analyzed this point: “No one has ever been killed with a ball. In hockey, people lie under the puck with their heads, and you dodge the ball! Therefore, a three thousand dollar fine,” said Evsikov.
The ex-player clarified that Gazzaev always deducted large fines from increased bonuses. “He let me earn money,” Evsikov emphasized.
The defender played for CSKA from 1999 to 2003, together with the team he became the champion of Russia and the winner of the National Cup. Gazzaev led the army team from 2001 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2008.
