Six Russians were admitted to the 2024 Olympics after IOC data update
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has mixed up the number of Russians qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games. Updated data appeared on the organization’s website.
It was previously reported that eight Russian and three Belarusian athletes qualified for the 2024 Games. However, the updated statement indicates that only six Russians and five Belarusians have now been admitted.
On December 8, the IOC announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN).
At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games. Representatives of team sports will also miss the tournament.
