Biathletes Gerbulova and Noskova were relocated after complaints about their living conditions
Russian biathletes Natalya Gerbulova and Ekaterina Noskova, who were outraged by the living conditions at the tournament in Ufa, were moved to another hotel in the city. RIA Novosti reported this to the Russian Biathlon Union (RUB).
“According to our information, none of the other athletes wanted to move,” the RBU noted. Earlier, the head of the organization, Viktor Maigurov, promised to look into the situation.
On December 13, Gerbulova and Noskova complained about the living conditions at the second stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Ufa. They criticized poor quality repairs in the rooms: holes in the walls, lack of curtains in the shower and lack of toilet seats.
The second stage of the Commonwealth Cup will take place from December 15 to 17 in Ufa. In addition to Russians, athletes from Belarus take part in the competition.
Russians do not participate in tournaments by decision of the International Biathlon Union. The order took effect in March 2022 and will remain in effect until further notice.
