Biathletes Gerbulova and Noskova complained about living conditions in Ufa
Russian biathletes Natalya Gerbulova and Ekaterina Noskova complained in their Telegram channel about the living conditions at the second stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Ufa.
The athletes said that the rooms were poorly renovated. Gerbulova and Noskova complained that there were holes in the wall in the bathroom, and there was also a lot of construction dust everywhere. “We are very glad that renovations are being done in Ufa, but why during the competition, which everyone knew about in advance?” – they were indignant.
Biathletes from the Krasnoyarsk Territory also discovered problems in their rooms: there was no curtain in the shower, there was no seat on the toilet, and water from the tap was pouring past the sink. “Our toilet is absolutely terrible,” they summed up.
The RBU promised to look into the problems with the accommodation of female athletes
The head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), Viktor Maigurov, responded to the athletes’ complaints. The official promised to look into the situation.
Viktor Nikitin, director of the Ufa sports complex, in whose hotel the biathletes were accommodated, critically assessed their statements. In a conversation with Match TV, he said that Gerbulova destroyed the reputation of the complex with her dissatisfaction.
Only Gerbulova was dissatisfied with the living conditions. She’s just promoting herself, last year she had the same story at a complex in Izhevsk

Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev considered the athletes spoiled. He told Match TV that athletes compare Russia and Europe, where conditions were different.
Vasiliev also advised athletes to use social networks less often and not immediately post all the information there
Earlier, figure skaters complained about living conditions at the Russian tournament
In November, participants in the Russian Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating criticized their living conditions in Samara and Kazan. Athletes published photographs of garbage and dirt in their rooms on social networks. In addition, the skaters claimed that there were cockroaches in the rooms.
On December 13, the Russian Figure Skating Federation reprimanded the athletes for their complaints. “It is unlikely that any information will appear in the near future like from the stages in Kazan and Samara,” said a source familiar with the situation.
