Ankaragucu President Koca resigned after beating a referee on the field
Turkish Ankaragucu President Faruk Koca resigned after beating referee Halil Umut Meler after the match against Rizespor in the 15th round of the Super League. Koca said he apologizes to the entire Turkish referee community, football players and the people of Turkey. He emphasized that he had decided to resign as head of the team in order to avoid further damage to the club.

At the end of the game, Ankaragucu President Faruk Koca ran onto the field and hit referee Halil Umut Meler in the face. The referee fell on the lawn and received several more blows from people who ran up. After this he was hospitalized.
