CSKA player Faizullaev was nominated for the prize for the best young football player of the year
Midfielder of CSKA Moscow and the Uzbekistan national team Abbosbek Fayzullaev was nominated for the prize for the best young football player in 2023. This was reported on the website of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
The list includes players who were born after January 1, 2003. Among the 26 nominees for the prize are also Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala and Barcelona midfielder Gavi.
On November 25, Faizullaev reacted to the nickname “Uzbek Messi”. The 20-year-old midfielder said that he does not agree with this naming. He emphasized that he loves the Argentine footballer, but wants to be himself.
Faizullaev has been playing for CSKA since August 2023. He played 13 matches for the team in all tournaments, scoring two goals and four assists.
