Olympic boxing champion Evgeniy Tishchenko spoke about the offer to compete for Kazakhstan at the professional level. Match TV reports this.
The Russian spoke about his compatriots who box for Armenia. “And so they told me that if not for Armenia, then I could try to play for Kazakhstan. But I stand for Russia. Thank God, I will represent Russia during the championship fight,” said Tishchenko.
The boxer will meet with German Leon Hart on December 9 in Dubai. At stake will be the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) belt in the new weight category up to 101.6 kilograms.
Tishchenko won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the weight category up to 91 kilograms. He is also the world champion in this weight.
