Russian freestyle wrestler Vladislav Baytsaev decided to change his sports citizenship. TASS was informed about this by the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili.
According to the functionary, the European champion will continue his career in the Hungarian national team. “He has been representing the Russian team with dignity for so many years, but there is practically no chance of being selected for the Russian national team, so we satisfied his request,” Mamiashvili added.
The head of the FSBR also stressed that the Russians had a warm working relationship with the Hungarians. “Vladislav has every chance to qualify for the Olympics and perform in Paris with dignity, so we wish him success,” the functionary said.
31-year-old Baytsaev competes in the weight category up to 125 kilograms. In addition to the gold of the European Championship-2018, he has silver and bronze of the continental championship.
In November, Russian figure skater Artur Dmitriev, performing in men’s singles skating, decided to move to the US national team. He said that he received an offer from the American Federation.
