Dasaev did not agree with Giner’s statement about Akinfeev’s superiority over him
Former goalkeeper of Spartak and the USSR national football team Rinat Dasaev appreciated the statement of CSKA President Evgeny Giner that the army goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev surpassed him, as well as ex-Dynamo goalkeeper Lev Yashin. Sport24 reports this.
Dasaev expressed disagreement with the functionary. “Do they think so? And let them think, I don’t care. You don’t need to tell me that. People understand everything themselves. I don’t care about such statements,” said the former goalkeeper.
Giner spoke out earlier on December 6. “I have all the respect for Yashin, Dasaev and others, but, in my opinion, Igor has already set all the records: clean sheets, number of matches, etc., etc.,” said the president of the Moscow club.
In addition to Spartak, Dasaev played for the Astrakhan Volgar and the Spanish Sevilla. He is a two-time champion of the USSR and a winner of silver medals at the European Championship as a member of the USSR national team.
