According to the journalist, there can be no complaints against Valieva, since her job is not to speak, but to move her feet beautifully on the ice. “What about those people who released her unprepared? I have a complaint against them,” Chen said.
The former athlete also appreciated Valieva’s decision to participate in such projects. “She won’t skate until she’s 40. If the Olympics were in two years, she would not leave the hall. She understands that, unfortunately, the door there is closed and is looking for a new one – this is normal,” Chen noted.
Valieva is a defendant in a doping investigation. Traces of a prohibited drug were found in the skater’s sample from December 2021. The final decision in the athlete’s case will be made in January 2024.
