The organizers of the draw for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League at noon, in the original draw, made a total of four mistakes which had to be annulled. Liverpool were in the same basket as Atletico Madrid (they played in the same group), Real Madrid were in the basket with Villarreal (same country), while Manchester United first drew Villarreal (they played in the same group) and then did not find in the basket of Atletico Madrid.
“As a result of technical problems with the software from an external supplier, there was a significant error. Therefore, the previous draw has been canceled and will be repeated at 3:00 pm” – we could read in the official announcement. Atletico Madrid was the first to react, while Real Madrid did not agree with the new UEFA decision, as it was drawn correctly and went to Benfica Lisbon.
To the 1/8 finals of the Champions League were promoted: Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus, LOSC Lille, Bayern Munich, Ajax Amsterdam, Real Madrid, which won their groups and were seeded. What’s more, they will play rematch at their own stadiums. On the other hand, the teams not seeded from second places were: Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan, Benfica Lisbon, Atletico Madrid, RB Salzburg and Villarreal.

The first matches of the 1/8 LM final will be played on February 15/16 and February 22/23. The rematch, in turn, are scheduled for March 8/9 and March 15/16.
