With the dispute over the date of the 15th second stage, the Pro League has already defined the clubs that will be in the 2024 Copa Sudamericana.
Delfín, Universidad Católica, Técnico Universitario and Deportivo Cuenca will compete in the local stage of the competition, in search of the two teams that will advance to the group stage.
A Manabi team that failed to hold on to the victory given them by Argentinian striker Bryan Oyola’s double to qualify for the Libertadores ended up drawing 2-2 against Técnico Universitario, who qualified for the next Sudamericana, thanks to goals from Jefferson Caicedo and Alex Mendoza.
Universidad Católica also squandered a chance to go to the Libertadores, losing 0-1 at home to Barcelona, and will settle for playing in the continent’s second most important competition.
Although Deportivo Cuenca lost 2-1 away to Emelec, they qualified for Sudamericana. (D)
