Russian forward of the Tampa Bay Lightning Nikita Kucherov was the first to score 40 points in the 2023/2024 season of the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the league website.

The forward gave his 25th assist in the regular season match against the Dallas Stars. Kucherov also scored 15 goals.

The 30-year-old Russian, who has played 24 matches this season, also broke the club record for the fastest time to reach 40 points. He surpassed the mark of forward Steven Stamkos, who needed 25 games to achieve this.

Previously, Kucherov was recognized as the first star of November in the NHL. He leads the scoring race for the season.

Kucherov has been playing for Tampa since 2013. He won the Stanley Cup with the team in 2020 and 2021. He has reached the 100-point mark in a season three times in his career: 2018, 2019 and 2023.
