The Brazilian national team said that it is possible to hold a friendly match with Russia
Director of Media Relations of the Brazilian Football Confederation Rodrigo Paiva announced the possibility of holding a friendly match with the Russian national team. His words are quoted by Sport24.
Paiva said that the issue of organizing a friendly match in 2025 is currently being discussed. “If we have the opportunity to play next year and our federations agree, we will inform about it,” he emphasized.
The Russian national team played its last friendly match on November 20 in Volgograd. Valery Karpin’s team defeated Cuba with a score of 8:0.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup and does not participate in the Euro 2024 qualifications.
