Russian figure skaters Annabel Morozov and Igor Eremenko wanted to change their sports citizenship. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to two sources.
As it became known, the ice dancing couple is considering the option of joining the French national team. It is noted that the skaters’ desire to change the flag appeared about six months ago. At the same time, the athletes expect to compete at the Russian Championship, which will be held at the end of December.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that the couple stopped working with coach Anzhelika Krylova. According to the source, the skaters will train in the USA under the guidance of their partner’s father, coach and choreographer Nikolai Morozov.
Morozov, 22, has Russian, French and American citizenship. She has been performing with Eremenko since February 2023.
