Russian UFC champion Islam Makhachev will hold his next fight no later than March 11
The team of the Russian champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Islam Makhachev revealed the timing of the next fight. The words of the athlete’s representative are quoted by TASS.
“Islam plans to hold the next fight before the beginning of the month of Ramadan. The UFC management has already been notified about this,” Makhachev’s team said, adding that the opponent has not yet been determined. Thus, the Russian must enter the Octagon no later than March 11.
On October 21, Makhachev defended his UFC lightweight title for the second time. The Russian athlete knocked out Australian Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.
In total, the 32-year-old Russian had 26 fights in his career, in which he won 25 victories, losing only once. He tops the UFC rankings regardless of weight categories.
