Irish mixed martial artist (MMA) Conor McGregor made it clear that he intends to fight Brazilian Charles Oliveira. He wrote about this in Twitter.
The 33-year-old Irishman intends to recover from injury and return to lightweight competition. McGregor demanded a fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) belt with Brazilian Oliveira.
“So when will I fight Oliveira?” – wrote McGregor on Twitter. The Brazilian holds the organization’s lightweight belt.
Oliveira defended his belt for the first time at UFC 269. He defeated American challenger Dustin Poirier ahead of schedule. The Brazilian won by rear naked choke.
McGregor was injured in his third fight against Poirier in July of this year. At the end of the first round, the Irishman broke his leg. McGregor’s return is expected in the spring of 2022. A number of fighters immediately expressed their readiness to meet with him in the UFC octagon. Among them are Max Holloway, Michael Chandler, and Khamzat Chimaev.
Magkregor became the UFC champion in two weight classes. He has only 22 wins and six defeats.
