Journalists from Men Today named three exercises that are dangerous for men over 50.
The authors first named the barbell bench press on a horizontal bench. It is noted that if the load is distributed incorrectly, the tension goes to the shoulders and not to the arms, which often leads to pain and injuries. It is recommended to use dumbbells instead of a barbell.
Reverse push-ups from a bench were also considered dangerous. According to the authors, this exercise worsens poor posture and places additional stress on the shoulder joint. It is proposed to replace reverse push-ups with bending or extension of the arms with dumbbells.
Additionally, a possible negative effect of barbell rowing has been reported. As the authors note, lack of joint mobility can make it more difficult to maintain proper posture, which can lead to unnecessary stress on the spine. An alternative is to do chest presses using dumbbells.
Previously, the best exercises for men over 40 were named. The authors of the material recommended doing steps in a half-squat, plank, squats, lunges and push-ups.
