Tuktamysheva: I wouldn’t refuse to perform under a neutral flag
World figure skating champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva answered a question about performing under a neutral flag. An interview with the athlete is available on the Fontanka Ru YouTube channel.
“I think if the federation sent its athletes under a neutral flag, if such a possibility was permissible, I definitely would not refuse,” the skater said. She noted that she really loves the atmosphere of competitions abroad.
On October 22, Tuktamysheva announced that she had decided to take a break from her sports career. The 26-year-old figure skater will miss the 2023/2024 season. “I will spend more time with loved ones, develop, get enough sleep, relax, engage in psychology, charity and other personal projects,” she said.
Tuktamysheva is the 2015 world and European champion. At the second world championship in her career, where the athlete went in 2021, she became a silver medalist. She also has medals of all the merits of the planet’s team championships.
