Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education at the State University of Management Irina Merkulova revealed ways to use household items in home workouts. Her words are quoted by Life.
Merkulova said that a rolling pin and a towel can replace a special roll. “After intense training or prolonged physical activity, tension in the muscles is observed; “rolling” problem areas will help relieve it,” she noted.
Merkulova also suggested using a chair in training – it can become a support for squats or reverse push-ups. The expert named two half-liter plastic bottles with sand or water as an alternative to dumbbells.
In addition, Merkulova advised replacing special gliding discs with plastic plates and using them to slide along the floor with your hands or feet. “This kind of training helps develop a sense of balance and body position in space: you have to control an unstable, slippery surface throughout the entire range of motion, using stabilizer muscles,” she explained.
