Roman Kostomarov played tennis with a prosthetic right arm
Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov played tennis with a prosthetic right arm. The athlete published the video on his Telegram channel.
The athlete’s first few shots fail – he drops the racket on the court. However, then Kostomarov begins to hit the ball successfully. βAt first, complete disappointment. Without hands it is terribly difficult: both morally and physically. But then you can find a way out of this situation if you really want to. And I really want it,β the skater wrote.
On November 16, Kostomarov said that he again visited the hospital in Kommunarka, where he was admitted in serious condition in January. βI saw again those people who fought for my life. Memories came flooding back, emotions went wild, but I was very happy to see everyone,β he admitted.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
