Russian Sergei Pavlovich received a suspension from fights after a knockout from Aspinall
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Sergei Pavlovich received a medical suspension after a knockout from Briton Tom Aspinall in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This was reported by MMA Fighting.
Pavlovich will miss at least 45 days. Before returning to fights, he will have to get clearance from doctors. Aspinall received a seven-day suspension.
The fight between Pavlovich and Aspinall took place on November 12 as part of the UFC 295 tournament in New York (USA). The Briton knocked out the Russian in the second minute of the first round and won the organization’s interim heavyweight champion belt.
The defeat was the second in Pavlovich’s career. Before that, in the UFC he lost to the Dutchman Alistair Overeem. The Russian has 18 victories; before the fight with Aspinall, he won six fights in a row. The Briton has 14 wins and three losses.
