Minnesota general manager Guerin said Kaprizov’s play is a concern
General manager of the National Hockey League (NHL) Minnesota Wild club Bill Guerin assessed the level of play of Russian striker Kirill Kaprizov. His words are quoted by The Athletic.
Guerin said the play of Kaprizov and Matt Boldy was concerning. He noted that both hockey players have problems with confidence. “And this is very difficult. Sometimes it’s harder than going through an injury. We just have to continue to support them and try to guide them in the right direction,” Guerin said.
This season, Kaprizov played 17 matches in the NHL, in which he scored five goals and ten assists. Earlier, Daily Faceoff included the Russian in the list of contenders for the Maurice Richard Trophy, an award awarded annually to the best sniper of the league’s regular season.
Kaprizov has been playing for Minnesota since 2020. In his debut season, the Russian was recognized as the best rookie in the NHL.
