Babaev said that Akinfeev received 8,600 rubles under the first contract at CSKA
CSKA General Director Roman Babaev spoke about goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev’s first contract with the club. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
Babaev stated that at the beginning of his career at CSKA, Akinfeev received a minimum salary of 8,600 rubles. “I remember well Igor Vladimirovich’s first contract in 2002, when he came to me as a teenager, still in the old office. I remember being very shy. That’s when he didn’t read anything, he just signed, got a little embarrassed and left the office,” he shared.
Earlier, Akinfeev spoke about his plans after retiring from his career. The footballer noted that after retiring from sports, he first of all wants to relax for a few months with his family and go on a trip to Russia and Armenia.
37-year-old Akinfeev has played for CSKA throughout his career. Together with the capital club, he won the Russian Championship six times, the national Cup and Super Cup seven times. In addition, as part of the army team, Akinfeev won the UEFA Cup.
