ESPN: Usyk and Fury will fight on February 17, 2024 in Riyadh
The date of the fight between British boxer Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Alexander Usik in 2024 has been announced. ESPN reports this with reference to an insider from its journalist Mike Coppinger.
According to Coppinger, the boxer will fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion on February 17. The fight will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
On June 28, it was reported that Fury refused to fight Usyk at a super tournament in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for December 2023. Initially, the boxers were supposed to meet on April 29, but were unable to agree on the distribution of fees.
Usik has 21 victories in 21 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses. He holds the World Boxing Council heavyweight championship belt.
