Pavlovich’s first words after defeat by Aspinall became known

Pavlovich’s second Levin said that the fighter was confident that he would finish Aspinall

Artem Levin, a second of the Russian fighter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Sergei Pavlovich, spoke about the athlete’s first words after his defeat to the British Tom Aspinall. His words are quoted by Sport24.

“At the beginning of the fight, Sergei landed a left blow from the half-side, which shook Aspinall. We talked after the fight, Seryoga said: “I felt that I would finish him now.” After that moment, he went after him – it was a mistake,” Levin said.

The fight, in which the organization’s interim heavyweight champion belt was at stake, took place as part of the UFC 295 tournament, held in New York (USA). Aspinall knocked out Pavlovich in the second minute of the first round.

The defeat was the second in Pavlovich’s career. Before that, in the UFC he lost to the Dutchman Alistair Overeem. The Russian fighter has 18 victories; before the fight with Aspinall, he won six fights in a row. The Briton won for the 14th time in professional MMA with three defeats.
