Bellator: the decision to strip Usman Nurmagomedov of the championship title has not been made
Bellator made a statement about the failed doping test of the brother of Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Usman Nurmagomedov. The organization’s commentary is provided by TASS.
Bellator confirmed the athlete’s disqualification for six months. “Usman Nurmagomedov continues to remain the Bellator champion. At this time, no decision has been made to revoke the title. There will be no further comments at the moment,” the promotion emphasized.
It was previously reported that the doping test of the cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov tested positive for an unknown substance. The title fight with American Brent Primus was declared invalid.
In total, 25-year-old Nurmagomedov won 17 victories in his professional career without suffering a single defeat. He has held the Bellator lightweight championship since November 2022.
