UFC chief White said Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon in the summer of 2024
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White announced the date for the return of Irish mixed style (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor to the Octagon. His words are quoted by the Daily Mail.
The head of the UFC said that the athlete could return to fighting in the summer of 2024. He stressed that McGregor will have to wait six months to get into the doping testing pool. “He’s doing well, he’s ready,” White concluded.
In October, McGregor announced the expected timing of his return to the Octagon. He stated that he would like to return to the Octagon in April 2024.
McGregor spent his last fight in the summer of 2021, losing to American Dustin Poirier in the UFC by technical knockout. The Irishman suffered a broken leg, from which he is still recovering.
McGregor, 35, is a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. In total, the Irishman has 28 fights, in which he won 22 victories and suffered 6 defeats.
