Russian fighter Sergei Pavlovich said that he doesn’t care who he fights in the UFC
Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Sergei Pavlovich spoke about his opponent in the next fight within the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Tom Aspinella. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
“The most important thing that interested me was that the belt would be in this fight. Of course, it would be nice if Stipe were the opponent [Миочич], but the belt is more important,” said Pavlovich, adding that it doesn’t matter to him who he fights. The fighter noted that he considers the temporary belt a full reward.
Miocic was scheduled to fight American Jon Jones for the UFC heavyweight title. However, during preparation, Jones was injured, so the promotion management decided to hold a fight between Pavlovich and Aspinall for the interim heavyweight championship belt.
Pavlovich and Aspinall will fight on November 12 at UFC 295, which will take place in New York. On September 3, the Briton said that he and the Russian were supposed to fight twice already, but both times the fights were disrupted.
The 31-year-old Pavlovich has 17 wins in 18 fights. The 30-year-old Aspinall has 13 wins and three losses.
