Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit – the head of the republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, personally met him at the airport. Their meeting was already the fifth this year, TASS writes.
The leaders will discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation and current international issues.
In addition, documents are planned to be signed in a limited and expanded format, and later, via video conference, Putin and Tokayev will take part in the plenary meeting of the 19th Forum for Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan.
An official reception on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan in honor of the Russian leader is also planned.
Earlier, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov noted that Putin’s visit to Astana is not related to the interest of European countries in Kazakhstan. According to him, the leaders plan to “synchronize watches on the entire complex of bilateral relations.” “We are developing our relations with Kazakhstan, so they are much closer than Kazakhstan has with many other countries. We are historical partners, allies,” Peskov emphasized.
Let us remind you that last week French President Emmanuel Macron visited Kazakhstan.
Before the trip the day before, Putin said that Russia and Kazakhstan face a confident future, no matter what the situation in the world is.
