In connection with the death of Russian football player Alexei Lesin, a pre-investigation check will be carried out. The Krasnodar Izvestia newspaper provides a commentary from the regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR).
“All the circumstances of what happened are being established. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to establish the exact cause of death,” the law enforcement agency said in a statement. It is noted that no visible injuries were found on the man’s body. According to preliminary data, the football player drowned.

The footballer’s father, Sergei Lesin, said that his son died on November 6 in Sochi, where he went to the All-Russian competition. He noted that the 30-year-old football player had no health problems.

Lesin Sr. published an appeal on his VKontakte page. He asked eyewitnesses who were on Adler’s Chaika beach on November 6 between 5 and 7 a.m. to provide information about what happened.

The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Chuvashia named Lesin one of the most prominent players in the republic. The Kazan Mini-Football Federation also expressed condolences to the athlete’s family and friends.
