Arshavin assessed the transfers of Russians to European clubs with the phrase “no fame, no money”

Arshavin said that he does not understand Russian players leaving for European clubs

Former Russian national team player Andrei Arshavin criticized domestic players moving to European clubs. His words are quoted by Sport Express.

“I just don’t understand why I should leave. If only they had left for a team that was higher class. How is Lokomotiv different from Torino or Atalanta? – said Arshavin. He assessed such transfers with the phrase “no money, no glory.”

In September, the head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, called on Russian players to leave for European clubs. He noted that he advised football players to try themselves outside the Russian Premier League many times. The coach added that he feels the difference between the level of the national team players who play in Europe and those who remain at home.

At the moment, several Russian football players are playing in European championships. Among the most famous are Alexander Golovin representing Monaco, Alexey Miranchuk representing the Italian Atalanta. Daler Kuzyaev plays for the French Le Havre, Arsen Zakharyan plays for the Spanish Real Sociedad. Alexander Kokorin from the Italian Fiorentina is on loan at the Cypriot Aris.
