Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the IOC has shown its failure
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the actions of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). His words are quoted by TASS.
Lavrov called the statements of the IOC outrageous, only now remembering the inadmissibility of collective responsibility for athletes. In his opinion, the committee showed its inconsistency and bias, supporting only what is beneficial to the West.
On November 1, the IOC spoke out about the conflict between Israel and Palestine. In their opinion, athletes cannot be held responsible for the actions of their governments.
On March 28, the IOC recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in neutral status. At the same time, athletes from Russia and Belarus associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended to be excluded from participation in competitions.
