Tutberidze called the words of Rodnina and Bestemyanova about her cruel approach a lie
Russian figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze responded to criticism of her approach from Olympic champions Irina Rodnina and Natalya Bestemyanova. Her words are quoted by the YouTube channel “Comment.Show”.
“They say that I somehow train cruelly. Find the strength in yourself, find the time and come to the skating rink. Sit in at least one training session. What are you talking about training without seeing or hearing?” – said Tutberidze. At the same time, she noted that she respects Rodnina and Bestemyanova.

Earlier, Tutberidze spoke about those involved in the case of her student Kamila Valieva, who was accused of violating anti-doping rules. “I would like to put all participants in the process on a lie detector, because I want to know the truth. I want to know where it came from, what it is, why,” the specialist said.
On August 6, Rodnina told Sport Express that she was embarrassed by the serious workload of students in Tutberidze’s group. “They start exercising early without taking into account what will happen to them in adolescence,” she noted.
Eteri Tutberidze gained fame thanks to her work with singles skaters. Among her students are Olympic champions Yulia Lipnitskaya, Alina Zagitova, Anna Shcherbakova and Kamila Valieva, as well as silver medalists of the Games Evgenia Medvedeva and Alexandra Trusova.
