The death of Matthew Perry will be investigated LAPD taking into account that it is a high-profile case, as happened with the death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009.
A police source told TMZ that a rapid test performed on the 54-year-old actor’s body showed no traces of fentanyl or methamphetamine in his system. In addition, at the time of reporting his death, the competent services that conducted the investigation did not find any illegal substances at the scene.

Matthew Perry’s Death Keys
TMJ obtained exclusive information about the investigation into the death of Matthew Perry. Although the autopsy results were inconclusive and because he is a celebrity, the police’s Homicide and Robbery Division will take over the case.
There are two keys to understanding why the authorities took sides in the death of the “Friends” star.

The first of these has to do with the fact that the actor’s body wasn’t in the jacuzzi long and that his body wasn’t “overwhelmed” when the first responders arrived, according to police sources revealed to TMZ, which could mean a new edge in the apparent drowning case.
In addition, the police who responded to the first call for help found several prescribed medications in the actor’s apartment, including antidepressants, anxiolytics and medication for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the media that follow famous people remind us.

Another possibility is medical negligence since Matthew has struggled with substance abuse for years.
The discovery suggests that Perry was taking medication prescribed by a doctor, as in the case of Michael Jackson. According to Dr. Drew Pinsky on Fox News, the actor may have been a victim of overprescribing.

“First of all, the problem with my profession is that we’ve been overprescribing opioids,” Pinsky commented in statements to an American program now reviewed by Who magazine.
“I’m afraid someone would have written it for him in the case of Matthew Perry. One of the biggest risks of being a celebrity is getting involved with a doctor who is excited about taking care of a special someone, and I really don’t understand, I don’t understand what can happen with the disease of addiction. If someone gave you a benzodiazepine, that person is to blame,” added the specialist, thus increasing the possibility of medical negligence.

An autopsy was inconclusive at this time, and additional toxicology tests are expected to determine if there were any other illegal substances in his blood or to determine the levels of any prescription drugs that may have affected him.
In any case, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate. (AND)
