Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the temptation to continue his sports career
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov said that he was tempted to continue his sports career. He spoke out on the UFC Eurasia YouTube channel.
“It’s not easy to give up 20-30-40 million dollars. But for me this is not the most important thing, not the most important thing. It was not an easy decision to end my career, but if it is made, that’s it, it’s over,” Nurmagomedov said. He also noted that he does not regret leaving the sport.
On October 20, Nurmagomedov announced his final break with MMA. The athlete stated that he had completely abandoned everything related to mixed martial arts and asked for understanding of his decision.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts.
